Recently, it came to our attention that there may have been some misunderstanding in the HTX community in relation to HTX's operations relating to Hong Kong. We would like to take this opportunity to provide certain clarifications.

First, while both Huobi Global (the operator of HTX) and HBGL Hong Kong Limited ("HBGL") (the operator of another virtual asset trading platform, Huobi HK) share a similar brand name, Huobi Global and HBGL are two separate entities and are independent of each other. HTX is operated from outside of Hong Kong and has no place of business in Hong Kong.

We would also like to clarify that Huobi Global has not made, and does not intend to make, any application to the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong ("SFC") to obtain (a) a licence to carry on business in Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 7 (Providing Automated Trading Services) regulated activities under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571 of the Law of Hong Kong) and/or (b) a licence to carry on business of providing virtual assets service (i.e. operating a virtual asset exchange) under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap.615 of the Law of Hong Kong) for HTX.

As you may be aware, Hong Kong users are already restricted from accessing certain products and services on HTX. Upon further assessment of local regulatory developments, HTX currently intends to exit the Hong Kong market by the end of May 2024. We will continue to monitor and observe the relevant local legal and regulatory developments, including Hong Kong laws and regulations.
